On Saturday I went to the tailors to be measured up for a suit for my daughter`s wedding in June. It was the first time in many a year that I had a suit `made to measure` and the experience made me quite sentimental knowing that I was getting `suited and booted` for Naomi`s big day. I can`t believe I`m going all soppy and there`s still another four months to go lol. I dread to think what I will be like on the day itself.

Getting measured is a constant theme throughout life too. A baby`s growth is measured in the womb and after the birth. A child`s progress is measured especially their height and weight. Employees work rate is measured in terms of performance and development etc. but here`s my question for you: Do you ever compare yourselves to others and feel that you don’t quite measure up? Throughout life people are compared to others and often compare themselves to others too. However, the only person we should compare ourselves to is Jesus, and He is very clear about how we should `measure up`. Romans 3:22-24 says, `all have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God`, therefore, it is pointless measuring and comparing ourselves to others, we just need to look to Christ to see how we are doing.

Furthermore, one of the devil`s jobs is to deceive us, which in this instance, is to make us feel inadequate, insecure and self-doubting, and sadly, he is succeeding `at a rate of knots` as many people today are struggling with their identity, purpose and value. The devil wants us to focus on our flaws but Jesus wants us to focus on our worth, `for we have been chosen by God and adopted as His child. ` [Ephesians 1:3-8] So, if or when you are tempted to `measure up`, take control of your emotions and be confident in yourself. Moreover, `Fear of man` fear of failure and doubt are three of the biggest soul-destroyers today and it can paralyse us and our Spirit, damage our relationships and hinder our walk with God if we succumb to their power.

So friends, and armed with the bible, believe in yourself, remember that you are a child of God AND made in His image and you are just as significant as anyone else and `TAILOR-MADE` for all that God wants to do through you.
